Listen to the Man!
It has been said that President-elect Obama is a great speaker but not much else. Indeed, what he has to offer further remains to be seen though I feel it will well surpass our expectations. But as for a speaker, how long has it been since someone can inspire us with their words and their words alone. There is nothing wrong with that. Kennedy did it, Reagan did it. Martin Luther King led a whole movement with nothing more than words and a voice full of conviction.
These days we know what great speeches are supposed to contain. We know how to stage them but few know how to speak them.
Barack Obama is one who understands. He is one who understands us.
The man, like a great opera singer is able to move me to tears. Many times not so much for what he says but with the way he says it.
It's a lost art. Listen and learn. Great countries have been led to do great and unfortunately, horrible things because of great speeches by their leaders delivered with conviction, eloquence and passion.
Barack Obama knows what he's doing and what he's saying. Listen to him.
